Amends provisions relating to criteria in family court determinations regarding custody and visitation rights. Clarifies that no court shall consider a parent's affirmation of their child's gender identity or expression in a custody determination.
2025 Regular Session
The purpose of this Act is to exclude a parent's affirmation of their child's gender identity or expression from the list of factors courts consider in determining what constitutes the best interest of the child when awarding custody and visitation rights.
In determining what constitutes the best interest of the child under this section, the court shall not consider whether a parent affirms their child's gender identity or expression that does not align with the sex assigned at birth.
