"adult entertainment establishment" means a business that is open only to adults and that presents: (i) live performances that are distinguished or characterized by an emphasis on the depiction of sexual conduct or nudity; or (ii) live drag performances

A health care practitioner who performs any of the following practices upon a minor, or who causes such practices to be performed upon a minor, for the purpose of attempting to change the minor's sex or for the purpose of affirming the minor's perception of the minor's sex if that perception is inconsistent with the minor's sex, commits a felony in the first degree: [...] (b) administering, prescribing, or supplying [...] (1) puberty-blocking medication, which stops or delays normal puberty; (2) supraphysiologic doses of testosterone, to females; or (3) supraphysiologic doses of estrogen, to males;

Religious or fraternal organization. The provisions of section 363A.08 [Minnesota Human Rights Act] shall not apply to a religious or fraternal corporation, association, or society, with respect to qualifications based on religion or, sexual orientation, or gender identity when religion or, sexual orientation, or gender identity shall be a bona fide occupational qualification for employment.

Modifying requirements for eligible institutions for postsecondary enrollment options [removes the following text:] An eligible institution must not require a faith statement from a secondary student seeking to enroll in a postsecondary course under this section during the application process or base any part of the admission decision on a student's race, creed, ethnicity, disability, gender, or sexual orientation or religious beliefs or affiliations.

The Minnesota Women's Bill of Rights applies wherever the state or an instrumentality of the state classifies people on the basis of sex or otherwise defines people as being female or male, women or men, girls or boys, and the definitions contained in this section apply. [...] (b) Because the state has an important interest in preventing unjust discrimination and in maintaining safety, privacy, and fairness, the state may provide separate single-sex environments for males and females where the sexes are not similarly situated, particularly with respect to biology, including but not limited to athletics, living facilities, locker rooms, bathrooms, domestic violence shelters, and rape crisis centers without running afoul of antidiscrimination mandates. (c) Wherever the state provides separate single-sex environments for males and females, the definitions established in this section must apply.

If a public postsecondary institution receives a pledge or statement [...] including a pledge or statement regarding diversity, equity, inclusion [...] or related topics, it may not grant or deny admission or benefits to a student, or hiring, reappointment, or promotion to a faculty member, on the basis of the viewpoints expressed in the pledge or statement.

In athletic programs operated by educational institutions or public services and designed for participants 12 years old or older or in the 7th grade or above, it is not an unfair discriminatory practice to restrict membership on an athletic team to participants of one sex whose overall athletic opportunities have previously been limited. Consistent with this section, in no case may male students try out for or participate on a female-only team. A male student who participates on a female-only team is guilty of a petty misdemeanor.

All licensed or regulated health care providers are prohibited from the following when treating gender dysphoria in minors: (1) performing or assisting with sex reassignment surgery or any other surgical procedures that alters primary or secondary sexual characteristics; and (2) prescribing, dispensing, or administering puberty blocking hormones or hormone antagonist therapies.

"Gender" has the meaning given to sex in subdivision 15, when used alone to refer to males, females, or the natural differences between males and females. Gender is not considered a synonym or shorthand expression for gender identity, experienced gender, gender expression, or gender role. This definition does not apply when the term is used in conjunction with other words or as an adjective to modify other words, or when context or explicit definition in existing state law, administrative rules, or guidelines of a governmental entity indicates otherwise. Gender is not synonymous with gender identity.
